Born Punk is an interesting looking point-and-click adventure game inspired by classic PC adventure games from the 80’s and 90’s by LucasArts. Currently the game is in development by Melbourne, Austrialia-based developer, Insert Disk 22.
The game is currently being funded via Kickstarter, and reached their initial funding goal within 24 hours, which is impressive. However, they still have a way to go to hit many of the stretch goals.
Born Punk’s story follows Eevi Rinasdottir, a former hacker-for-hire who, during a freelance hacking job, has her computer brain implant infected by some sort of intrusive AI. As you progress through the game, you uncover the true nature of the intruder and what its intentions are.
Gameplay-wise, the game aims to be in the point-and-click vain, similar to classic LucasArts adventure games from the 80’s and 90’s PC era. The game will have lots of puzzle elements and an intricate story to keep things interesting.
Born Punk is a game in the style of the 80s and 90s point & click classics like Monkey Island, Gabriel Knight and Beneath A Steel Sky, that wants to deliver an intriguing storyline and logical, non-outlandish puzzles – which admittedly, were a bane of ye olden games.

There have been several interesting cyberpunk-themed point-and-click adventure games that have come out over the last few years such as Technobabylon, Red Strings Club, and the upcoming Tales of the Neon Sea. This seems like another fantastic entry in the genre.
Born Punk is aiming to be released on all major platforms including Windows, Linux, Mac, Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, Android, and iOS. Although it will take some more funding to reach many of the stretch goals, the fact that this game was funded within 24 hours is a good indication that there is a strong desire for games like this out there.
